Well my word its been a while. I knew I hadn't posted in a week or two, but six weeks?!
Turns out, time really can run away with you when ou're least expecting it! And I'd love to be able to show you pictures of everything that's happened over that time, but I'll admit that I just kept forgetting to pull my camera out at important times
But what can I show you? Well, I've been very busy on the knitting front. As I mentioned a while back, a friend of mine is expecting her first baby two weeks tomorrow. Well I've finished the baby blanket
and a few more things beside!
The cardi will have a teensy carrot stitched on to it; the running joke is that that is all she's spent her Healthcare in pregnancy grant on!
I do still have about 25g left of the white yarn, but I haven't got a clue what else to make. Any suggestions? Its DK knit if you have an ideas...
There's also been a lot of cooking going on here. There was the Lemon Drizzle Cake for work that went in an hour and a half, homemade hobnobs when my Grandma came to visit (as well as a Spanish Feast to die for courtesy of the Lovely), easter nests (well it is that time of year) and a fantastic pie for dinner last night that was very much a joint effort between myself and the Lovely.
Mmm.... pastry goodness :)
I've also now started my job, so am spending about half of my life in London. Benefits of this include working in a building that's within the Natural History/Science Musuem complex in South Kensington, getting to try nice restaurants for dinner, and, best of all I got to meet up with the ever lovely Miranda in Hampstead last tuesday. She took me to a very nice pub indeed and it was lovely to get out of South Kensington for dinner; part of the problem of staying a five minute walk from the office is that unless you know where you're going its a bit daunting to venture to a different district for dinner when you're eating on you're own! I'm tempted to be brave and go into the centre on tuesday - I really fancy going to Mildred's as I've had some really nice food there in the past when I've been with the Lovely. That or maybe Wahaca, or maybe I'll just bottle it and end up in the pub round the corner from my hotel!
Anyway, I hope you're all well - those posts I've seen recently seem to suggest as much!
Hope you're all having a happy Easter (I'm revelling in the fact that for the first weekend in ages we've barely left the house :D) and I'm sure I'll seee you all soon

Ooh, all your knitting is fabulous! So adorable :) The food looks amazing too - yum! It was lovely seeing you in London. We'll have to arrange more dinners/drinks for when you're down again.
That blanket is wonderful. That pie though - what a size, what pastry! WHat is the filling? My mouth is watering.
Glad you had a lovely Easter
Welcome back - your pie looks delicious and the knitting is so cute.
We were in London for few days last week and the eating out nearly bankrupted us (pesky kids eat soooo much these days!).
The blanket looks lovely, and I like the orange and green buttons on the top.
What about the umbilical baby hat from the original Stitch n Bitch book? It knits up pretty quick (like most baby knits, I guess!) and is quite cute.
WOW loooook at that pie... incredible... and loving the little knitting. xx
